This family is not directly<\/em> connected with the Three Loeck Sisters but quite a few members of the Lindner family married members of families that the Three Sisters are related to such as Horn <\/a>and Schonlebe.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We begin with: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jacob Lindner \/ Jakob Lindner (* 1544 in Mittweida ; \u2020 April 2, 1606 in Naumburg (Saale) ). He was a German pedagogue. His brother was Johann Lindner (1549 \u2013 1622) who married Margarethe Graul ( – 1635).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born as the son of the Mittweida citizen and baker Hans Lindner and his wife Margaretha, daughter of the Chemnitz citizen Nicolai Jahn, he proved to be talented at an early age. After his schooling in Mittweida he went to school in Freiberg in 1559 and was admitted to the Grimma state school in 1562. Here he obtained his university entrance qualification as an alumnus in 1566 and moved to the University of Wittenberg in 1567 .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Lindner had acquired the academic degree of Magister in Wittenberg in 1570, he was appointed third teacher at the Landesschule Pforta the following year. In 1575 he possibly received the position of vice rector and on April 23, 1580 he became rector of the institution. Also in 1580, Lindner had married Maria Magdalena, daughter of the famous reformer Nikolaus Steinecker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under Elector Christian I of Saxony, the Philippists gained a dominant position and drove the Gnesio-Lutherans out of office. Lindner, like his father-in-law, had to resign from office as Lutherans in 1588. Lindner then went to Naumburg, where he owned his own house and lived as a citizen for three years. He then became a city councilor and was eventually elected mayor of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n

After the death of the elector and the assumption of office by Christian II of Saxony, the tide turned in favor of the Gnesio-Lutherans. His father-in-law received his Leipzig professorship back and after the sudden death of Rector Bartholom\u00e4us Walther in 1592, Lindner was able to return to the Pforta State School as Rector. For reasons of age, he asked for his retirement in 1601, which was granted with a pension of 100 guilders. He spent the last years of his life in Naumburg, where he died of old age and was buried on April 3 with a large funeral procession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The above Jacob had a brother Johann Lindner (1549 \u2013 1622) who married Margarethe Graul ( – 1635). They had two sons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Johann Lindner (1584 – 1662)<\/li>
  2. Philipp Jacob Lindner (1585 \u2013 1636)<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    On 8 June 1610, Johann married Anna Tannenberg \/ Tanneberg at Freiberg. She was born on 4 February 1592 at Freiberg and deceased on 16 April 1638 at Freiberg, aged 46 years old, the daughter of Zacharias Tannenberg \u20201603 and Margarethe Horn \u20201622.  They had the following children:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Johannes Lindner who married Elisabeth Seyfarth ( – 1685)<\/li>
    2. Maria Magdalena Lindner ( – \u20201662) who married Jonas Schonlebe I<\/a> (1582 \u2013 1658). Before marrying Jonas I, Maria had married Daniel Graul from her mother\u2019s Graul family.<\/li>
    3. Jacob Lindner who married Anna Elisabeth Bachmann. (1635 \u2013 1677)<\/li>
    4. Anna Margarita Lindner who married Johann Caspar Horn<\/a> (1606 \u2013 1671)<\/li>
    5. David Lindner (1604 – 1644) ?<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      It has been claimed that Margarethe Horn who married Oswald Hilliger<\/a> and who was the direct ancestor of the Three Loeck Sisters was the same Margarethe Horn who also married Zacharias Tannenberg. However, this is probably not the case even though it is claimed to be so in Jahrg. 18 here: Mitteldeutsche Familienkunde \u2013 Bd. 5, Jahrg. 17-19 <\/em>(1976-1978). Instead, Margarethe Horn who married Zacharias Tanneberg was the daughter of Martin Horn and Katharina Vogel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Philipp Jacob Lindner (1585 – 1636) was another son of Johann Lindner (1549 \u2013 1622) and Margarethe Graul. He married Gertrude Kuehlewein. They had a son Philipp Jacob Lindner Jnr. (1616 \u2013 1665).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In 1617 Philip Jacob, Snr. contributed to the book: Suspiria Christianorum, Das ist: Christliche Weyhenacht Gedancken unnd Seufftzerlein nach dem Herrn Messi \u2026<\/em>  [Christian Christmas Eve thoughts and little sighs for the Lord Messiah: taken from the Advent song and included in seven sermons.]<\/p>\n\n\n

      Suspiria Christianorum, Das ist: Christliche … <\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

      In 1637 a book on the law was published with the title: Selectarum Iuris Quaestionum Ad faciliorem Paratitlorum Wesenbecii intellectum directarum Disputatio VIII. \u2026<\/em>  Several members of the Lindner and related families were editors such as: Johannes and David Lindner \/ Lindener; Paul Pleisner; Johan Caspar Horn<\/a>; and Heinrich Sch\u00f6nleben<\/a>. Paul Pleisner\u2019s daughter Dorothea married first Gottfried Schonlebe, then Valentin J\u00f6pner, and finally Johann Prager (1572 \u2013 1638).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In 1638 Anna (Tannenberg) Lindner, the wife of Johann Lindner (1584 – 1662), died and a funeral sermon was published:  Der Au\u00dferwehlten himlische Frewd und Seligkeit<\/em> \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n

      In 1639 Johann Lindner signed the Stammbuch: Strasbourg : 03.1639 Lindener, Johann *- 1685* Identity [Stammbuch Georg Matthias K\u00f6nig] K\u00f6nig, Georg Matthias *1616 – 1698*. – [handwriting]. – [Sl], [1629-1644].<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In 1647, Georg Adam Struve<\/a>, Christian Tannenberg, Johann Lindner Snr., and Johann Lindner Jnr. published: Exercitatio Iuridica VI. De Restitutionibus In Integrum \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In 1649 Gottfried Lindner who appears nowhere on the genealogical databases makes a filial appeal to his father Johann Lindner, Jnr. by publishing a long poem titled: Schuldiges Andencken Auff die frohe \u2026<\/em> which says, approximately, that the book is a \u201cGuilty souvenir for the happy name Mr. Johann Lindener, the Electoral Prince\u2019s office keeper. His [Gottfried\u2019s] beloved father dedicated on the 24th day of the fallow month 1649.”<\/p>\n\n\n

      Schuldiges Andencken Auff …<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

      Magdalena Tannenberg (1597 \u2013 1642) the daughter of Zacharias Tannenberg (\u20201603) and Margarethe Horn and the sister of Anna (Tannenberg) Lindner (1592 \u2013 1638) married on 18. October 1618 Heinrich Schonlebe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Magdalena died in 1642 and a funeral book titled Flagrantissimum Christiani Moribundi Desiderium, Das ist<\/em> \u2026 was published (See Schonlebe family page<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In 1662 Johann Lindner, Snr., the husband of Anna Tannenberg died and a series of funeral-sermon books were composed such as: Erheischender Schuldigkeit willigstes Denckmal Welches Dem Wol Ehrenvesten Hoch Achtbarn Hoch- und Wolweisen Herrn Johann Lindenern ..<\/em> . with contributions by Johann Lindner, Jnr. as well as Jonas II and Johann Ernst Sch\u00f6nleben, their mother being Marie Magdalene Lindner.<\/p>\n\n\n

      Another funeral book was published but much later in 1674 under the title:  Sonderliche Seelen-Warte des frommen K\u00f6niges Davids aus dem 5. und 6. Versicul des CXXX. Psalms bey \u2026<\/em>The various pages following the book\u2019s title page show that his daughter, Anna Margarethe, married Johann Caspar Horn and his other daughter, Marie Magdalena, married Jonas Sch\u00f6nlebe I.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In 1663 Anna Elisabeth Lindner, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Elisabeth (Bachman) Lindner died, and a funeral sermon book published that lamented their \u201clittle daughter’s untimely death\u201d under the title:  Christliche Beyleid- und Trost-Worte Uber Des j\u00fcngst sch\u00f6n auffgebrochenen Aber Bald wieder erb\u00e4rmlich abgebrochenen … Linden-Zweigeleins Annen Elisabethen Des … Herrn Jacob Lindners\/ Des Raths … allhier \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

      In 1667 Anna Dorothea Lindner, the daughter of Johann and Elisabeth (Seyfarth) Lindner, died and to mark the occaision a single sheet was produced titled: Quisquis Es. Advorte. Lege. Mirare. Vana. Haec. Mortalium. Vita. Et. Parva … Ob. Hanc. Causam. Lugemus. Obitum. Virginis … Annae. Dorotheae. Lindneriae<\/em>. Published by Jonas Schonlebe II (see penultimate line). <\/p>\n\n\n

      Another funeral book for Anna Dorothea Lindner was published under the title: Als Dem Wohl-Edlen Vesten und Hochgelahrten Hn. Johann Lindnern Beyder Rechten … Doctori \u2026 <\/em>which tells us that she had not yet reached her 20th year of age and that she died in the 10th Christian month (October) in the year 1667, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n

      The two daughters of Johann and Anna (Tannenberg \/ Tanneberg) Lindner were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      I. Anna Margarethe Lindner who married Johann Caspar Horn (1606-1671), son of Caspar ( \u2020 1619) and Ursula Hilliger. They had two children: i) Anna Magdalena (Horn) who married Michael Schirmer and ii) Johann Caspar Horn, Jnr. (1636 \u2013 1722). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      II. Maria Magdalena Lindner who married Jonas Schonlebe I on 24 September 1644. They had two sons Jonas II and Johann Ernst the Younger.<\/p>\n\n\n
